A heavy weight paper pot, made from double poly coated board gives better insulation than a standard paper deli pot, standard paper deli pots are often sold with plastic lids as soup containers, but are not as robust as this container.
Lid is made from three pieces of paper, the inside disc having 4 vent holes, whilst the out side disc has two holes, as these holes do not line up it prevents liquid spilling from the container, but does allow venting. Venting the container is essential to stop lid blowing off.
Most operators only sell one size of soup container - 12oz, as 8oz is to small and it is felt that 16oz is to large.
If sales of 12oz take off, a second larger size could be introduced at a later stage.
For The Paper Cup Company 99% of sales are the 12oz size, so adequate stocks are available of this size, but other sizes are subject to an adequate forecast.
8oz Soup container
The 8oz soup container comes in cases containing 250 containers and 250 lids. The 8oz container is very rarely used.
